OVER OUR DEAD BODIES
This film documents the origins of ACT UP New York and the lesbian and gay community’s anger and frustration with the US political and medical establishment’s response to the AIDS epidemic. While the film celebrates the real successes of AIDSactivism, it also describes the terrible toll of the epidemic and examines the community’s need to integrate grief into political activism. The film also describes Queer Nation (USA) and Outrage (UK) and their relationships to new lesbian and gay politics and the AIDS activist movement.
