Great British Story: A People's History
Helped by local groups and communities across the UK, and the incredible resources of local archives, museums, societies and universities up and down the land, the Great British Story will uncover the British past and chart the many roads by which the people of Britain arrived at their present. Interweaving the national story with the local, Michael Wood sets the lives of the ordinary people in the context of great events. The Great British Story charts the journey of the people of Britain, showing them struggling with invasion, plague, famine and war - and often with their rulers - to make their own history and shape their own identity and tell how today’s British came to be- the story of how they became us.
