Rebecca Dobbs: Producer / Director
Producer and founder member of Maya Vision. In her early career, Rebecca produced many experimental films for a range of outlets, including the Arts Council of England and a variety of European broadcasters. More recently, she has produced the majority of Maya Vision's output with Michael Wood, listed below. Alongside, her role as producer / director, Rebecca is also in charge of steering the creative direction of the company, as well as the unenviable task of ensuring the smooth running of the operation that is Maya Vision International.
Michael Wood: Writer
Writer, historian and presenter, whose work prior to joining Maya Vision includes Art of the Western World (ITV) and Legacy (ITV), In Search of the Dark Ages (BBC) and In Search of the Trojan War (BBC). Mike has written accompanying books to his television series, still in print after 20 years.
Rebecca and Michael have made many films together. These include, 'The Sacred Way' and 'Darshan - an Indian Journey'. They also worked together on the award winning 'Saddam's Killing Fields,' prizes for this film include, the Silver Nymph and Critics prize for Best Documentary on ITV - Monte Carlo Television Festival and a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Documentary). More recently, they have worked on the epic journey 'In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great' (4 x 60 mins), 'Conquistadors' (4 x 60 mins), 'In Search of Shakespeare' (4 x 60 mins), 'In Search of Myths & Heroes' (4 x 60 mins), 'Gilbert White, The Nature Man' (1 x 60 mins), 'The Story of India' (6 x 60 mins), 'Christina: A Medieval Life' (1 x 60 mins).
Sally Thomas: Producer
The third director of Maya Vision International, Sally is the holder of the proverbial purse and manages the production teams on our various projects. In addition, she has also produced dramas and documentaries for the BBC, Channel 4, UK Film Council and the Arts Council of England.
